Chrissy Brett was a friend of the Victoria Anarchist Bookfair and we are happy to share this event in their memory.
“All are welcome to our final cookout and community BBQ at Camp Namegans!
Saturday, September 26 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Community will gather at the former site of Camp Namegans in Saanich across from Uptown Centre at Regina park, to honour Chrissy Brett and ALL our unhoused friends and family who have gone home too soon.
It will be a day for community to reconnect and share some love!
Hamburgers, hotdogs, and gluten-free vegan options will be provided FREE on the day! Please bring banners and signs and share with unhoused community!
We have a fundraiser set up to help pay for food and travel expenses for family who would like to attend on @backpackproject_victoria’s Instagram – DM them if you would like to sign up to volunteer on the day, they need two people to cook and also help with set up at 12 o’clock before guests arrive.
This will be the Backpack project’s final cookout! And Niki would love to see you there!
